‘If you find yourself in a hole, stop digging’ – Bill Brock
The quote is derived from on old adage coined The Law of Holes
Which sort of goes along with the quote:
‘Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.’ – Anonymous.
(The quote is often misattributed to Einstein, but that’s a topic for another day.)
Digging Holes
The Law of Holes basically states that the more you dig the hole, the harder it is to get out of. We often wake up each day, rinse and repeat the previous; at least when it comes to our rituals and habits.
But some of those habits are keeping us from our dreams or at least, quality of life.
Today I was listening to the audio version of a book by Robert Kiyosaki ( Author of Rich Dad, Poor Dad ) where he speaks about these kinds of repetitious activities that hinder or do nothing for our progress.
The sooner you can identify and replace the bad habits and hindrances in your life, the sooner you’ll stop digging the hole deeper, and begin to climb out of it.
Plus, there is usually much more sunshine on the surface.
Below are links to a particular selection of resources regarding habits (good and bad) that we all can work on to align ourselves with growth and opportunity.
